Terms of Service
Last updated: August 29, 2026
The service
Shipmate is a discovery and matching network that helps indie founders and marketers find each other. You browse profiles, like the ones that fit, and when the interest is mutual you can chat and take it from there. By using Shipmate you agree to these terms.
Beta status
Shipmate is in beta. We are onboarding the founding cohort of users, and some features — including matching and chat — may not be open yet or may change without notice. We may modify, pause, or discontinue parts of the service while we build.
Your account
- You sign in with your X (Twitter) account and must be the legitimate owner of that account.
- You are responsible for the information you publish on your profile and projects, and you confirm it is truthful.
- One person, one account.
Acceptable use
Keep it professional. It is not allowed to:
- Create fake profiles or impersonate someone else.
- Spam, mass-message, or use the platform for unsolicited promotion outside its purpose.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
- Post scams, misleading offers, or illegal content.
- Scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract profiles or data.
You can block and report users from the app. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these rules, at our discretion.
Your content
Your profile and project information remains yours. By publishing it on Shipmate you grant us permission to display it to other users and visitors as part of the discovery experience — that is the whole point of the product. You can edit or hide it at any time.
Between users
Shipmate connects people; it is not a party to any agreement, collaboration, or payment you arrange with someone you meet here. Do your own diligence before working together.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee matches, results, availability, or that the service will be error-free — especially during beta. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability arising from your use of the service is limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves; the date above reflects the latest version. Continuing to use Shipmate after a change means you accept the updated terms.
